Hello,

I want to monitor process data (data from two analog inputs) on a HG1F Operator Interface and on a PC located at 30 meters from the pannel. Is it possible to connect the PLC and PC simultaneously with HG1F? how to implement this?

Hello,

I think you use an Idec MicroSmart as PLC ?
If so, add a second communication port to the PLC and connect here the display.
The programming port is free to connect the PC.
If distance is too long, you can use RS232 to RS485 converters http://www.renuelectronics.com/rscon.htm

Hello Stephane,

If i am using this option for 30 meters distance i will have to use two RS232/485 converters, one at PLC end and one at PC side(485 to 232) right?

or is it possible to connect RS485 directly to PC?

If display is shorter to PLC, you can connect the display to COM1 (programming port) of the PLC and add a RS485 communication module as COM2 to connect the PC.
In that case you need only 1 RS232/RS485 converter

Depending on the environment you can also try to use a RS232 connection.
30 m should be still ok at 9600 Baud.

Best regards
